And it may not be all good news ..
I posted this at Dpreview as well and it will be interesting to see what sort of feedback it generates there.
This is the list of Fujifilm products that will be announced at the 2014 CES show in early January:
- Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R lens
- Fujifilm FinePix XP70 camera
- Fujifilm FinePix S1 camera
- Fujifilm FinePix S9200 camera
- Fujifilm FinePix S9400W camera
It seems the weather sealed X camera will be announced a little later.
Interesting line-up though.
No HS series announced, it looks like the new path is the motorized S series.
S1 to take over from the HS50/Sl1000 perhaps? Very bad news if true for those of us hoping for an improved HS50. However it does seem more in line with what the other manufacturers offer in the superzoom/bridge class and probably a lot cheaper to make as well.
That being the case my association with Fuji will end right there. The X series ICL cameras are nice but the pricing here is horrendous. To buy an XA1 here with the kit lens is $968.00 dollars, but to buy the X lens 55-200mm is almost $1200NZD which puts the price into a whole new bracket of camera equipment.
Of course I could be getting ahead of myself .. so fingers crossed anyways. We will have a much better idea by Jan 10th.
Edit: It also occurs to me that the S1 designation could be a lower spec X-S1.
